Nick Wood is a Zambian-born clinical psychologist and author, raised in South Africa and currently a resident in the UK. After some unlisted stories in nonprofessional journals, he began to successfully publish work of genre interest in 2003. Since then, he has written two novels – and is currently working on a third novel of magical realism (The Girl Who Calls the World) – along with several short stories.
He has been nominated for the John W Campbell Award (Best SF Novel, 2017), the Sidewise Award for Best Alternate History, the British Science Fiction Association Award for best novel and the NOMMO Award for best African speculative fiction.
He was recently interviewed for an upcoming BBC documentary on African Authors.
