Futility

FUTILITY is a dark farce, an African magical realism tale of betrayals, revenge, supernatural and occultic mischiefs, and the deadly lengths some women will go for the sake of love, even a tainted love.

Prepare for a gripping tale of betrayal, revenge, and the supernatural. Chia, betrayed by her fiancé and best friend who now live in the UK, crosses paths with Claire Bellows, a former British cop in Abuja with a dark past. Claire, haunted by the murders she’s committed—including that of her son Tom’s father—is desperate to reconnect with Tom. But when Tom becomes a sacrifice to a malevolent entity in Chia’s restaurant, the stage is set for a deadly clash. As these women spiral toward a supernatural showdown, only Chia’s estranged autistic brother, Zeuwa, holds the key to their fate. In the cursed realm of FUTILITY, the deity of despair, will they escape their doomed fates, or will vengeance consume them both?

The story is set in both Nigeria and England, showcasing strong elements of magical realism, the supernatural and the fantastical, rather than core horror.
